Chosing a provider - Team While my nanny analogy won't work here, I can't think of another that would either! The next thing we would advise people to look at in their prospective service providers is "The Team". Is this team a group of 30 people sitting in a fancy office that are perpetually bored? Is it a group of 300 people sitting in a slightly less fancy office but who are always swamped with work? The big questions help, but really ask, "Have you done a site like this before?". Ask "What technologies will you use?". Ask "Can I talk to the designer and the developer and maybe the database guy if I need to, or do I really only have to talk to you?". Everything has its pros and cons...but think about how you want the relationship to go, and find a team that can match to that. Invent Can :)
Chosing a provider - References Say you're looking for a nanny. You'd first make sure that he or she is qualified for the job, right? Ask about price? Then what? My guess is that if they were qualified, and affordable, the next thing you'd be looking for is references. Because of this, Invent Design Group keeps our clients close enough so that if we have a site in our portfolio or point you to something and say we did it, we can put you in touch with the person we did it for. We provide a service that we firmly believe our clients will stand by...even if it's not exactly what we want. While this turned into a blatant sales pitch for Invent, it's important to consider this with any potential service provider.
Chosing a provider - Price As with just about anything you would give money to somebody to do, web design and optimization takes a tricky set of skills. As such, it's generally a fairly expensive thing to outsource to a service provider. In this vein, it seems as though the number one fact to consider should be the good old fashioned "Cost" variable. I could write a Tom-Clancy-long narrative about how you can't just look at the price, and you pay for what you get for, and blah blah...but the bottom line is you need a service provider who can work within your budget.
Chosing a Web Services Provider While it's fair to assume that, in general, the company who is trying to get you to chose them as a service provider may not be the definitive source on how to select a service provider, we would like to prove to you that Invent Design Group is different. We do so by laying out just a few very basic things to consider when selecting a service provider, and hope that when considering them Invent impresses you enough in those categories to chose us. While some of them are tailored towards making Invent Design Group look good - I promise we don't have to try that hard ;)
